Diablo 4 Players Praise the New Features of Season 5
A ton of new details have been revealed for Diablo IV's fifth season, with fans highlighting the new ability to summon defeated bosses in dungeons as a major quality of life improvement for players. Not only did Blizzard release a brand new cinematic for the Ships of Hatred expansion at the Xbox Games Showcase, but they also revealed all sorts of new details about the upcoming fifth season.
Blizzard held its usual campfire chat for Diablo IV's fifth season, with development team members Adam Fletcher, Daniel Tanguay, and Adam Jackson in attendance. During the stream, Blizzard confirmed a ton of details about Season 5, which will be available to everyone on August 6. Blizzard also discussed new game modes, such as Hell's Horde, an end-game activity that incorporates roguelite elements by fighting enemies in waves. In addition to the bigger game modes, Blizzard also confirmed some smaller, but equally impactful quality of life changes.
As expected, Season 5 will add more unique and legendary items for players to hunt, including a wizard-specific Vox Omnium, and some items will have even higher random caps and more variability. Surprisingly, Diablo 4 will also allow players to re-summon dungeon bosses without having to reset and re-run the entire campaign. Essentially, players can use the summoning altar in the room to hunt specific end bosses, which require specific items to activate. The specific example Blizzard used was Echo of Duriel, which requires 2 slime eggs and Shards of Pain to re-summon. Players can buy d4 items directly and get 5% off at u4gm with the discount code "vien".
Diablo 4 Player Reactions are Extremely Positive
The reveal of being able to resummon bosses instead of fully resetting the Diablo 4 dungeon was a major one for players, as this was a quality-of-life feature that had been requested for a long time. Fan reaction has been extremely positive, with many saying this is something that should have been there from the start but are happy that Blizzard is listening and making tweaks. Regardless, most Diablo 4 fans agree that this change is a huge win for the game as a whole.
Next month will see a detailed look at the Elves class in the Ships of Hatred expansion, followed by Season 5 and Gamescom in August. Xbox has confirmed its largest Gamescom booth ever and has confirmed that several games will be on display at the show, including Diablo 4: Ships of Hatred. With the DLC launching in October, there's a good chance fans will get new details from Blizzard, additional gameplay footage, and maybe even see some previously unrevealed elements of the expected expansion.
