Wuthering Waves: Do Players Choose Jinhsi or Changli?
In version 1.1 of Wuthering Waves, players can choose to support Jinshi and Changli, two five-star characters that are important in the storyline. (Now U4GM supports players to use the discount code "vien" to buy Wuthering Waves five-star hero accounts to enjoy a 5% discount. )
Jinshi and Changli are relatively comparable as characters, as both are combo-oriented DPS characters despite their different attributes (elements). Both also focus heavily on their Resonance Skill in their rotations, making them similar in many aspects. However, there are still nuances in their roles, team compositions, and builds that players should pay attention to.
Build
Their builds differ greatly in terms of Echo sets and weapons.
- For Jinshi, the best Echo set is the Celestial Light 5-piece set with the primary Echo being Jué. Jinshi's best weapon is her signature Ages of Harvest. However, if the player has previously acquired options like Verdant Summit or Lustrous Razor for characters like Jiyan or Calcharo and can freely swap them for challenging content like Tower of Adversity, they are also viable.
- Changli, on the other hand, has a different set of best echoes and weapons to suit her needs. For echoes, she will benefit the most from the 5-piece Molten Fissure set with Inferno Rider as her primary echo, which is easily accessible. Regarding weapons, her best option is her signature weapon, Blazing Brilliance, which significantly increases critical damage, resonance skills, and attack percentage. However, Genesis Emerald is also a viable option as it is one of the better 5-star weapons available to players after reaching Alliance level 45, so it is convenient.
Role
The DPS output of Changli and Jinshi is quite similar, with both characters focusing on their Resonance Skills in different ways. However, compared to a character like Jiyan, their more complex combos make them slightly more prone to DPS drops.
- For Changli. Jinshi is a bit more flexible in her combo order, allowing for easier adjustments during combat.
- On the other hand, Changli is more versatile in her overall role, capable of functioning as both a main DPS and sub-DPS, making her potentially more future-proof and adaptable to various team compositions.
Team
While both Jinshi and Changli can utilize the same support units like Verina, Baizhi, and Taoqi, players will notice some differences in their synergy requirements for the third team spot.
- Jinshi benefits more from characters with highly useful Intro/Outro skills. Overall, Jinshi performs well with characters that require minimal on-field time.
- Changli, on the other hand, is more flexible in her team compositions as her performance is less dependent on other characters. She has self-buffs and can also enhance the next team member by providing Fusion DMG and Resonance Liberation DMG buffs.
Pull for Changli if you:
- Want a versatile character that can take both DPS and Sub-DPS roles.
- Enjoy duo DPS setups, long combos, and on-field times for the Main DPS.
- Have already built Chixia / Encore, and can essentially swap their gear around effectively.
- Have a sword that increases her ATK or Crit.
Pull for Jinhsi if you:
- Need a Spectro DPS character - since Jinhsi is the only actual option for this as of now.
- Have a fully built character like Yinlin or Yuanwu that can work well as off-field DPS.
- Enjoy quick swaps and strategizing around Intro / Outro skills in particular
- Have a Broadblade that increases her crit values, while also having access to Celestial Light pieces with viable stats.
