Blaidd the Half-Wolf: Ranni's Loyal Companion in Elden Ring

Blaidd, the half-wolf NPC, plays a significant role in Ranni the Witch's quest in Elden Ring. As Ranni's trusted companion, Blaidd is sent on a mission to find Nokron's hidden treasure. However, he doesn't know the exact location of the entrance to this underground area. Blaidd suggests that the Tarnished meet him at the Siofra River, a vast underground region in Elden Ring.

Finding Blaidd in the Siofra River Well

To reach Blaidd in the Siofra River, players must first travel to the Mistwood Outskirts Site of Grace in eastern Limgrave. From there, head towards the nearby Minor Erdtree and look for a small round building with a pressure plate elevator. Ride the elevator down to the Siofra River Well, being cautious of the Runebears in the area.

Once at the well, light up the Siofra River Well Depths Site of Grace and head deeper into the area. Go through the big archway surrounded by destroyed pillars, climb the stairs to the left, and continue until you reach a giant waterfall. Look for a small entrance near the waterfall and ride the elevator inside.

Blaidd's Location in the Siofra River

You'll emerge at the Siofra River Bank, where you can ride Torrent. Head north through the watery swamp until you find the Siofra River Bank Site of Grace. Walk to the nearby Hallowhorn Grounds staircase east of the River Bank Site of Grace, pick up the map fragment for Siofra River from the corpse near the stairs, and climb the small slope to the west.

At the top of the slope, you'll see Blaidd near a cliff in the distance. Continue forward and talk to Blaidd to progress his and Ranni's questline. Make sure to exhaust his dialogue before reloading the area, or else he won't move to his next location.

Blaidd's Role in Ranni's Questline

Even after the Tarnished completes the task and talks to Preceptor Seluvis, Blaidd will remain in the same spot in the Siofra River. He only moves when the quest to defeat Starscourge Radahn begins, at which point he travels to Redmane Castle.

Blaidd's quest is part of the larger and more complex Ranni questline in Elden Ring. Despite the frustration of some of the later NPC side quests added in the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Ranni's questline remains one of the longest and most intricate in the game.
