Reliquaries in Diablo 4 – A Smarter Way to Unlock Cosmetics


The Reliquary system introduced in Diablo 4 Season 8 changes how players interact with seasonal content. Instead of following a rigid battle pass, you now earn Favor Tokens—an in-game currency collected through combat and quests—and use them to purchase items from different Reliquaries.

Players can choose which content to unlock, from Weapons and Armor to creature-themed cosmetics. Each Reliquary costs a set amount of Platinum, but thankfully you’re not forced to buy all categories. This selective model helps save on Diablo 4 gold for players who’d rather invest in gear upgrades or crafting materials.

Reliquary categories for Season 8:

  • Belial’s Return – Free
  • Weapons – 200 Platinum
  • Beasts – 500 Platinum
  • Armor – 800 Platinum

Once all items in a Reliquary are unlocked, a bonus item is granted automatically. This system not only rewards completionists but also supports more casual players, especially when combined with Diablo 4 Boosting to quickly earn Favor Tokens.

Tokens carry over between seasons and are capped at 99, encouraging thoughtful planning for future cosmetics and avoiding unnecessary grinding.
