Why Season 10 Might Finally Make Nesekem Worth Using

So here's something I never thought I’d say—I'm actually excited to try Nesekem, the Herald again.

If you’ve been around the Diablo 4 community long enough, you probably know this weapon’s reputation. It’s often labeled as one of the weakest Mythics in the game, and for a long time, I agreed. I tried to make it work across multiple builds and it just never clicked. The numbers were there, but the synergy wasn’t. It felt like Blizzard handed us a fancy paperweight Diablo 4 gold.

But then came Season 10, and with it, the introduction of Chaos Uniques—a game-changer.

For those who haven’t dug into the details yet, Chaos Uniques allow specific Unique items to roll in gear slots other than their original ones. That means weapons can show up as gloves, rings can become boots, and so on. Suddenly, that bottleneck where you had to choose between Rod of Kepeleke or Wushe Nak Pa for your weapon slot? Gone. You can equip one as your weapon and the other as gloves, or pants, or wherever it rolls.

And that’s what makes Nesekem, the Herald interesting again.

Now that we have flexibility in our Unique loadouts, Nesekem can finally sit in the weapon slot without forcing you to miss out on higher-impact gear. You can run builds where Rod of Kepeleke shows up on your helm, while Nesekem fills out your weapon, giving you crit and Overpower bonuses alongside previously inaccessible synergy. It's not perfect, but it's playable—and honestly, that's a big deal for a weapon that’s been ignored for almost a year.

I've already started theorycrafting a Vulnerable-focused Spiritborn that abuses the guaranteed crits from Nesekem while stacking multipliers through Chaos rings and gloves. Early tests are promising. It’s not S-tier, but it’s not a joke anymore either diablo 4 gold farm.

It's still funny to me that it took this long—and this kind of mechanical overhaul—to make Nesekem viable. But hey, I’ll take it. If you wrote off this weapon in the past, maybe it’s time to dust it off and give it another look.
