Diablo 4 Item Level Importance

Diablo 4 Items (or Gear) are a huge part of building your character and supporting your particular set of skills, especially once you reach the endgame and you have finished leveling your skills and your Paragon Boards are well on their way to being finished.

The tiers of items progress as follows

  • Common: 1 affix
  • Magic: 1 to 2 affixes
  • Rare: 2 affixes
  • Legendary: 3 affixes and 1 Legendary modifier (aspect)
  • Unique: 4 affixes and 1 Unique modifier
  • Sacred - Item Power 625 - 750 - Drop in World Tier 3. Must be character level 35 to equip.
  • Ancestral - Item power 780 - 925 - Drop in World Tier 4. Must be character level 55 to equip.

In addition, Massive overhaul of itemisation in Diablo 4 Season 4: Loot Reborn.

All items dropped in World Tier III will now be Sacred. All items dropped in World Tier IV will now be Ancestral. Item rarity drop chances have been adjusted. After level 28, the majority (~80%) of gear dropped that is not legendary will be rare. Additionally, chances to drop legendary items now scales more after reaching Level 50. Item Power now increases every 5 levels after 50 instead of on a linear scale.

Legendary Items and Unique Items can now be traded. This only includes unaltered items. Imprinting, Enchanting, Tempering, or Masterworking an item will bind it your account.
